National Dog Day is Wednesday, August 26, and we’re celebrating the special bond between people and their pets by calling on animal lovers to volunteer with Pet Peace of Mind.

For hospice patients, a beloved pet can provide comfort, companionship and a sense of normalcy during an incredibly difficult time. But when illness makes it harder to care for a pet, families may need a helping hand.

That’s where our Pet Peace of Mind volunteers come in.
Volunteers can help with things like dog walking, pet care and other pet-related needs, helping patients continue to enjoy the companionship of the animals they love.

Veterans Salute to Service, a program of The Hospice of Baton Rouge, honors veterans receiving hospice care through a meaningful pinning ceremony.

During the ceremony, fellow veterans present a retired star from a United States flag, a certificate of recognition, and a commemorative lapel pin symbolizing the veteran’s courage, patriotism, and dedication in service to our nation.
