To support the growth of strong and effective Microbusiness Development Corporations by maximizing the efforts and resources of individuals, practitioners, corporations, and agencies committed to the economic prosperity for the people and communities The purposes of MBNLA are to: build a network of organizations, agencies, and individual dedicated to microbusiness development; provide leadership t
o the voice of microbusiness practitioners; Increase knowledge, business and intergovernmental relationships in the area of microbusiness development while maintaining high ethical standards of management; to provide networking, educational opportunities, and best practices to benefit the Network, its members, its affiliates, and the community it serves; to provide for the members of the Network an outlet to gain valuable professional experiences by applying the principles of microbusiness development to organized programs and projects; to advocate for collaborative thought, communication, and significant position of microbusiness initiatives in local, state, and national policy making arenas; to promote microbusiness as a viable economic development system by providing permanent and temporary solutions to joblessness and impoverished and low income populations and communities; provide resources for data and performances tracking as well as best practices; to advance a more just economy in Louisiana by taking a broad, system-based approach at removing barriers and changing policies which prevent people from accessing proper training, technical assistance, and access to capital; and to serve the surrounding community by promoting active involvement in organized projects and programs that will benefit the community and by participating in volunteer work.
