POLICE OFFICER INJURED: A Ridgeland Police Department, MS officer is fighting to recover after a devastating crash with a fallen tree during severe storms left him with life-threatening injuries on his way to work. Corporal Ryan Stacy, a 25-year-old father, suffered a ruptured spleen, broken ribs, and a fractured pelvis. Despite the trauma, this brave officer is praising God for his survival. Now, his department and community are rallying behind him with prayers, support, and a blood drive. Prayers for healing and strength for this hero and his family.

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I inform you that St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Major Coleman passed away this morning following a brave battle with cancer. His courageous fight has impacted every member of the St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Office and those in our community who knew him personally.

For those of you who didn't have the pleasure to cross his path, let me tell you a little about Major:

He was a true public servant through and through. He served in many roles for our state and for our parish over the years. We consider ourselves lucky that he chose to join the ranks here at the St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Office around the time I took office.

If there was a need for the citizens of St. Helena, he was first in line to lead and to assist. He loved St. Helena. He served on many boards and commissions representing our Sheriff’s Office. He worked tirelessly with our litter team to keep St. Helena beautiful. He continued his training. He wanted to be the best he could be. He took great pride in his service to community. He was truly a gift to our parish and to our Sheriff’s Office.

Major was an excellent employee and a true asset to St. Helena Parish.

We will all miss him.

While arrangements are being sorted out, we encourage you to share your memories/thoughts/well wishes for Major. We'll make sure to get them to his family.

Please keep Major’s family in your prayers.

🚨 POLICE Officer Stabbed Multiple Times RELEASED From Hospital 🚨 After 20 days of fighting to recover, Aurora Police Department, CO Officer Mark Moore is finally home after being stabbed multiple times in the head during a violent standoff. Moore and his K9 partner Cyrus were both injured, but both are now on the road to recovery. Cyrus was released from vet care last week. 💙 A brutal reminder of the dangers officers face… and the strength it takes to come back.

: A Chicago police officer was killed and another was in critical condition after a suspect opened fire while in custody inside a hospital, officials said.

Officers brought the unidentified suspect, who was in custody, to the Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital around 9 a.m. for treatment, police and the hospital said.
