Strong Towns Baton Rouge

Strong Towns Baton Rouge We support a model of development that allows Baton Rouge to become financially strong and resilient.

Enduring prosperity for our community cannot be artificially created from the outside but must be built from within, incrementally over time.

Love the Boot Collab with DDD!

Saturday April 18 | 8:30 am - 11:00 am

This is a great opportunity to Keep Louisiana Beautiful. Bring shovels, rakes, trash bags, water bottles, etc. 2 hours of picking up trash, removing graffiti, refreshing planters, and making our home even a smidge better. More details to come!

Why does Baton Rouge keep expanding roads when we can’t maintain what we already have?

5 Reasons Why We Should End Highway Expansion:

1. We don't have the money to maintain what we've already built.

2. The high-returning projects have long been done.

3. More lanes don’t actually solve traffic congestion.

4. Highway projects sap time and energy from other local priorities.

5. When we put our money into highway expansions, we get highway investment.

Read more here:

We have to end highway expansion and focus on projects that actually build wealth in our cities. If you’re not convinced, then read on.

🚶‍♀️🚴 Baton Rouge residents are ready to move — safely! A new AARP research survey shows 78% of residents age 50+ want a more walkable city with safe sidewalks, well-marked crosswalks, and improved lighting. Nearly two-thirds say they already walk or bike instead of drive, but many still face uneven sidewalks, poor lighting, and safety concerns.
