Earlier this month, we had an extra-special Sow Good Saturday! We beat the summer heat with kiddie pools, plenty of fun, and a visit from our friends at Louisiana Clean Fuels!

Thank you to everyone who came out, got involved, and made the morning such a good one.

Our next Sow Good Saturday is September 12! Join us for another fun morning of community, learning, and getting our hands dirty at Baton Roots.

See you at the farm!

What started as a simple idea to share creative resources has grown into the Little Art Library, a place where our Baton Rouge community can give, take, create, and keep art supplies out of the landfill. ๐ŸŽจโ™ป๏ธ๐Ÿ’›

The Little Art Library is all about making creativity more accessible, whether youโ€™re an artist, teacher, parent, student, or just someone who loves to make things.

A huge thank you to FantomLight Productions for capturing the story behind the Little Art Library and helping us share a little more about why this project means so much to us. โœจ

Public transit is workforce development.

Culture Club builds practical life skills through public art, urban ag, community engagement, and real-world learning. Our summer interns recently took their learning onto the CATS bus system in collaboration with Louisiana Clean Fuels.

They practiced reading routes, planning trips, managing time, navigating public space, and understanding the transportation infrastructure that connects Baton Rouge residents to jobs, education, healthcare, culture, and opportunity.

This is civic literacy. Young people need to understand the systems that serve their communities and the public investment behind those systems so that they are prepared to lead them.

Community development becomes sustainable when residents have the knowledge, skills, and agency to participate in the places they call home.

Weโ€™re investing in young people who can navigate their city, contribute to their communities, and help shape what comes next.

Culture Club is back, and weโ€™re ready to build whatโ€™s next. ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽง

We kicked off another year of Culture Club during Professional Development Day, reconnecting with the teachers, staff, and community partners who make this work possible.

It was a pleasure welcoming Principal Ms. Barnett and reconnecting with Ms. Favors and Ms. Pipkins as we prepare for another year of creating meaningful opportunities for students.

Registration is now open for students in grades 9โ€“12 at Lincoln and Madison High Schools .

Culture Club connects students with experienced mentors, industry professionals, hands-on learning, and pathways that extend beyond the classroom. Current programming includes music production, entertainment business, art portfolio development and college readiness, plus agroforestry and landscape architecture in partnership with Texas Trees Foundation.

Students have opportunities to develop creative and technical skills, explore careers, prepare for college and entrepreneurship, build relationships, and, when eligible, participate in paid community work experiences.

๐Ÿ“ฒ Culture Club is free. Registration is open now: https://forms.gle/QowUUahSbdXQdciu9
