We have joined with Mid City Merchants and others to turn the three traffic management boxes in the Old Goodwood area from a huge silver box to a piece of art. 🚓 Neighborhood Safety Update
We are pleased to report that crime in our neighborhood remains extremely low. This is a testament to the vigilance of our residents, the efforts of law enforcement, and neighbors looking out for one another.
As we move into the summer months and school lets out, activity throughout the neighborhood naturally increases. With more people outdoors, more vehicles traveling through the area, and many families taking vacations, now is a good time to review some basic safety practices:
• Lock vehicles and remove valuables from sight.
• Secure homes, garages, and outdoor equipment.
• Keep an eye on neighbors' properties when they are away.
• Report suspicious activity promptly.
• Encourage children and teens to practice safe habits while enjoying summer activities.

The United States Postal Inspection Service is offering up to $150,000 for information on someone who allegedly attempted to rob a USPS letter carrier on Audubon Avenue, officials said.

Yesterday our neighborhood had another signficant and very concerning incident. This is a summary of what we know from our officers and should be considered preliminary information.

One of the mail carriers delivering mail near the intersection of Audubon and Sevenoaks was walking house to house. She was confronted by a man on foot and according to her report, he was armed. He wanted her master key to mailboxes at a nearby apartment complex. She gave him keys and he walked off toward her mail truck. At some point he turned around and walked toward her and threw the keys back at her and then ran away.

BRPD did respond but does not have the person in custody.

Today, additional investigations are being conducted (most likely led by the Post Master General’s agency). They are canvassing neighbors in the area of the incident and asking for any additional video footage.

So if you have cameras that have video around 2:45 to 4:00 pm that may show a man in red sweat pants and a dark hoodie running in the neighborhood that is obviously not a jogger please contact the BRPD, as they will be working with the other agencies.

Hopefully with the help of our neighbors, this person will be caught.
