Junior Achievement Greater Baton Rouge

Junior Achievement Greater Baton Rouge batonrouge.ja.org
Youth Development, Economic Development, Education Development, Financial Literacy The JA program is in over 85 schools in our area.

By partnering business with education, JA recruits volunteers to teach business and economic-oriented programs for students K-12. Business leaders, as volunteers, teach Junior Achievement’s activity-based programs which are centered upon real-world topics. The volunteers bring their real life experience in business and economics to life and help children to see the relevance of education and the i

mportance of staying in school. Volunteers are viewed by students as mentors as well as points of contact to the business world. Junior Achievement programs are field tested in classrooms and updated in response to comments from teachers, students and volunteers. They correlate to state educational standards in Louisiana. All JA programs are evaluated by an independent research firm, and the results of those evaluations are used to revise and improve the instructional models.

Yesterday, the JA team attended the LCA/Donaldsonville Partners in Progress Luncheon. We were able to visit with our industry partners and learn more about the new Hyundai steel facility. JA is proud to partner with Ascension schools and local industry leaders to support workforce development pathways through programs like JA Trades Quest, JA BizTown, and JA Leading Ladies/Mentoring Men.

POV Wildwood Elementary students: “Too hot for recess? Challenge accepted!” ☀️🥵

Instead of melting on the playground, these awesome students put their energy to work helping Junior Achievement get ready for JA BizTown! From teamwork to hard work (and maybe a little fun along the way), they’re proving that making a difference is way cooler than recess today.

Thanks, Wildwood Elementary, for turning a hot day into a great day for a great cause! 👏🏙️ Kathy Hsu Paula Talbot Dawson

We were honored to attend the ribbon-cutting of Amazon Prime Air's new Drone Delivery Center in Baton Rouge and get a firsthand look at technology shaping the future.

Even more exciting, Amazon presented Junior Achievement of Greater Baton Rouge with a $15,000 investment in our JA financial literacy programs for students across our 10-parish area, helping us continue inspiring and preparing students for success.

A huge thank you to Amazon Prime Air and our board members whose connections and support make opportunities like this possible.

One connection can make a tremendous impact for the students we serve. 🚁💙 Paula Talbot Dawson
