LSTA Executive Director Jay O’Quinn was honored to represent the Southern Region of the National Troopers Coalition and the Louisiana State Troopers Association during our recent visit to Washington, D.C.

He had the opportunity to thank members of our congressional delegation for their continued support and to discuss important issues affecting Louisiana’s state troopers and the law enforcement community.

These conversations are critical to ensuring our troopers have the resources, protections, and support needed to continue serving and protecting the citizens of Louisiana every day.

Executive Director O’Quinn is proud to stand alongside those who advocate for the men and women who wear the badge. 🇺🇸

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr..

Dr. King’s message of service, equality, and justice continues to inspire communities across our nation. His commitment to peaceful change and respect for one another reminds us that progress is built through unity, understanding, and action.

The Louisiana State Police remains committed to serving all communities with integrity, professionalism, and respect, while continuing to work toward a safer and more just Louisiana for everyone.

Today, and every day, we reflect on his legacy and recommit ourselves to service above self.

January 9 is nationally recognized as Law Enforcement Appreciation Day — a day dedicated to honoring the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of those who serve and protect our communities. Those who walk into danger so others may walk in peace define the very meaning of service.

The Louisiana State Police proudly thanks all law enforcement officers for their hard work, dedication, and selfless service. We also honor those who came before us and paved the way with steadfast devotion, setting the standard of excellence we strive to uphold today.

Every day, law enforcement officers stand on the front lines — protecting our communities, supporting victims, mentoring youth, and showing up for others during their most difficult moments. Their commitment is not defined by a badge alone, but by the compassion, integrity, and resilience they bring to the job.

They make personal sacrifices — missing holidays, birthdays, and precious time with loved ones — so that others may live safely and securely. Their commitment does not go unnoticed, and their service does not go unappreciated.

Please take a moment to thank the law enforcement officers you encounter — your appreciation truly matters.
