Girls on the Run South Louisiana will be hosting its 5K on Saturday, May 2nd at 9:00 a.m.

The 5K will start and finish at Blue Cross Blue Shield and run through Jefferson Terrace and Inniswood, so there may be some brief road closures and traffic delays that morning. It's mostly the same as the fall with a slight change on the campus of BCBS. I’ve attached the course map for reference.

Reminder signs the week of the event will be posted. Thank you so much for your continued support!

Let’s talk about the future of Airline Highway. 🗣️

BREC is inviting residents to a community meeting to discuss upcoming plans and gather feedback. If you’re interested in what’s ahead for the area, this is a great opportunity to learn more and share your perspective.

Message from City of St. George Dept of Public Works.

That page is a good one to follow for IEJT residents.

PLEASE NOTE there are a couple of pages for St. George Louisiana, but this one appears to be directly associated with the city gov't (while others seem to be various forms of "community" pages).

**UPDATE: if your work order request was already submitted in the previous system, it will be transferred over to the new system by our team. Don’t worry about resubmitting it 😉

🚧 A More Efficient Way to Report Concerns in St. George

The City of St. George Department of Public Works and GovWell has launched a new Work Order Reporting System. The updated platform may look a little different, but it was designed to be more user-friendly and efficient for residents reporting concerns around the city.

Residents can submit reports for items such as drainage concerns, roadway conditions, and other public works matters. Reports can be submitted anonymously, or you can choose to include your contact information to receive updates on the progress of your request.

News from "Girls on the Run":

Good morning!

My name is Cate, and I’m the Program Director for Girls on the Run South Louisiana. For the past 15 years, our organization has empowered girls to be joyful, confident, and healthy through evidence-based life skills lessons and physical activity.

I wanted to let you know that we’ll be hosting our biannual 5K celebration on Saturday, November 15th at 9:00 a.m. The 5K will start and finish on the Blue Cross Blue Shield grounds and will run through the Jefferson Terrace and Inniswood neighborhoods, which may result in some temporary road closures and brief traffic delays that morning. A course map is attached for your reference.

We’ll be placing reminder signs throughout the area the week of the event, but I wanted to reach out in advance so you can share the information with your neighborhood if possible. We truly appreciate your patience and flexibility as we celebrate this special day for our girls and the community.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you again for your understanding and support!
