This Week's Devotional: A Child of God

Scripture: Romans 8:15–17 - "The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[a] And by him we cry, “Abba,[b] Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory."

Reflection Prompt
How does knowing you are God's child change the way you approach Him? Do you approach God as a beloved child or as someone constantly trying to earn His acceptance?

Prayer Focus
Pray for a deeper revelation of your relationship with God as Father. Ask Him to replace feelings of rejection, abandonment, or unworthiness with the security of knowing you belong to Him.

Creative Action Step
Create a "Child of God" playlist with worship songs that remind you of God's love, acceptance, and faithfulness. Choose one song each day and spend a few minutes simply thanking God for adopting you into His family.

This Week's Devotional: Chosen and Set Apart

Scripture: 1 Peter 2:9 - "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."

Reflection Prompt
What labels have you allowed people, circumstances, or your past to place on you? How would your life change if you truly believed that God chose you and set you apart for His purpose?

Prayer Focus
Ask God to help you see yourself through His eyes and embrace the identity He has given you. Pray for confidence to stop seeking validation from people when you already have God's approval.

Creative Action Step
Create a "God Says I Am" page in your journal.
Write:
• I am chosen.
• I am set apart.
• I am God's possession.
• I am called.
• I have purpose.
Add other identity statements from Scripture throughout the week.
