To the people who make a difference. To the people who fight for what's right. To the people who positively change the workplace for not just themselves but ALL other workers.

Labor Day is more than a long weekend. It’s a reminder of what workers can accomplish when we stand together.
More than a century ago, workers across this country stood up and demanded something better. They fought for fair wages, reasonable hours, safer working conditions, and the dignity that every working person deserves.
Those fights were not easy. Workers organized, marched, went on strike, and stood together to make their voices heard. In 1894, Labor Day became a federal holiday, giving our country an official day to recognize the contributions and achievements of American workers.
Today, we celebrate the generations of working people who came before us and paved the way for the rights and protections we have today.
But we also recognize that the work doesn’t stop.
Every contract negotiated.
Every grievance won.
Every steward who stands up for a coworker.
Every partner who speaks up.
Every worker who decides to join together with their coworkers.
That’s labor. That’s solidarity. That’s the power of a union.
This Labor Day, Local 655 celebrates YOU: the workers who keep our communities moving, our shops running, our businesses growing, and our families strong.
