The September meeting of the Gateway Division will be held on Monday, September 21 at 7:30 PM Central time. This will be a hybrid in person/Zoom meeting held at Oakville Elk Lodge 2726 Oakville Elks LN, St Louis MO. at 7:30PM

Dean Smith will present "Take Me to the River Again: Modeling Mountain Streams, Rivers, and Waterfalls"
Fast-flowing, clear streams, rivers, and waterfalls are part and parcel of the mountainous terrain shared by many of our favorite railroads. With their visible river beds, white water areas, and “see-thru” waterfalls, these cascading waterways can prove a challenge to effectively model. By utilizing a series of easy-to-follow techniques using natural materials and commonly available craft and hobby supplies, this clinic should give even the novice modeler the confidence to dive right in and create effective rivers and waterfalls. As an added bonus in a reprise of this popular clinic, we will also be taking a look at constructing a sawmill pond and log splash dam.

Night photo ops!

Calling all photographers! Come and join the Electric Car Department for a special evening of nighttime pictures with all Illinois Terminal diesel and electric equipment! For this event, various vintage pieces of Illinois Terminal Railroad Company equipment will be staged for evening and after-dark photos at locations around the property with actors dressed in era-appropriate attire. The event will start at 5:00 PM after normal Museum daytime operations on Saturday, October 3rd. Coordination and lighting will be provided by David Zeman and Ralph Durham. Tickets are $125 per person and attendance is limited. Note: participants are required to bring their own tripod and have a camera on which they can manually control shutter speed, aperture, and ISO (or film).
