Granite-State-Marines Marine Corps League Granite State Detachment #542 members join together in camaraderie & fellowship. Semper Fi.

The Granite State Detachment of the Marine Corps League consists of a proud group of Marines, Navy Chaplains and Navy Corpsmen, as well as Associate Members, friends and family. We are based in Manchester where we meet monthly at the American-Canadian Genealogical Society (ACGS) to discuss business such as new member recruiting, local outreach & support programs, members in need, fundraising activities, events and other detachment involved items. Monthly meetings are on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 1800, at 1 Sundial Ave, Suite 317, Manchester, NH 03103. Did you serve in the Marines, to include FMF Chaplains and FMF Corpsmen, and want to experience that camaraderie again? Do you want to find a way to help Marines, their families and other veteran programs in the Southern New Hampshire area? Do you want to be connected to one of the finest veteran organizations in the world? Then it sounds like you should come out to an event and meet the members of our detachment. If you want to prepare in advance of your first meeting, click through our "Those We Serve" and "History" pages to learn more about us, then click over to the "Membership" page to complete your application. Whether you were a Marine that served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan or served your enlistment on one of the many bases and ships across the United States Marine Corps, you are always welcome at the Marine Corps League. As President Ronald Reagan once stated, “Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem.” Come out and continue to make a difference.

More than $32,000 raised for Veterans Count!

Thank you to the 285 registered runners and everyone who volunteered, supported, and cheered at the Veterans Count 5K in Nashua on September 5. Your support helps Veterans Count provide critical care coordination and emergency financial assistance to service members, Veterans, and their families.

A special thank you to the Nashua Police Department Mounted Unit, Nashua Fire Department, Cady Hickman for singing the National Anthem, the Alvirne High School ROTC for presenting the colors, master of ceremonies Jamie Staton, Veterans Count Community Liaison Courtney Stairs, for sharing more about the impact of Veterans Count.

25th Anniversary 9/11 Ceremony - Hampton, NH

The 9/11 25th Anniversary Ceremony event had a monument honoring all of the service members of all branches from New Hampshire that lost their lives in the Gulf wars after 9/11/2001. See the picture of the monument. It has been an annual event since 2006.

The Marine Corps League detachment #394 has been performing a firing detail for this event for many years. Participating were: Dick Lak, Brad Howe, John Flagler, Jim Ambrose, Eric Anthony (GSD 542 Commandant), and Chip.

A couple of weeks ago a few members of GSD 542 went up to the Lebanon, NH Revo Casino and Social House for the big check photo event.

The Granite State Detachment 542 MCL is extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Revo Casino and Social House Charitable Gaming program as the funds received go toward supporting our mission of supporting Marines, Veterans, and the greater Manchester community.

Thank you to all those that helped at the photo shoot, we felt very welcomed.
