It’s a MATCH!

This hunky duo returned to us after seven years due to unforeseen circumstances in their family. They were adopted as kittens in our center, and we will always be available for a rebound relationship.

They are cuddly, large, and very well behaved socially (so friendly!) and in their bathroom habits.

They have lingered in our centers for longer than we would like. They are exceptional cats and so handsome to boot! They are available for speed dating on Saturday at Pleasant Beach.

We love summer! Late night sunsets mean more time for reading with a cold beverage on the porch. Join our group in July for the stunning book “If Cats Disappeared from the World” by Genki Kawamura. Dive into love, loss, memory, mortality and, of course, cats.

Email [email protected] for more information. Happy Reading!

A friendly reminder about safety for our pets during this early summer heat wave ☀️

You think it’s hot? Imagine if you were covered in fur.

We know you want to bring your dog with you as you do errands or make a quick trip to the grocery store, but if you love them, leave them at home.

It’s expected to get up to 90 degrees in Kitsap today, which means it’s going to be A LOT hotter in the car. On a day like today, it can get up to 125 degrees . The next couple of weeks are going to be too warm for your animals as well, and it doesn’t even have to get that hot to hurt your pet. Get this:

If it’s 75 degrees outside, your car heats to 109 degrees in just a half-hour.

At 107 degrees, your pet is in danger of brain damage.

At 120 degrees, it’s facing heat exhaustion and death.

Also, it’s against the law! If you see a pet left in a car on a day like today - call 911!

Check out the attached graphic for more hot weather tips and be kind to your buddy. The best thing you can do on days like today is just leave your friend at home with a big bowl of water and their favorite treat.

June 12th is the last day for Bainbridge Gives!

Bainbridge Community Foundation’s Community Grants Cycle (CGC) is an opportunity for Island residents to support causes that matter most to them.

We are so grateful to be part of a community that prioritizes the work of nonprofits and the essential services they do for the land, people, and, in our case, our furry best friends.

Erica, Komoto, and Snookums went to their forever homes this weekend! They are all success stories from our hard work of caring for animals who need a second chance. Our Veterinary Assistance Fund helps both dogs and cats who need live saving medical interventions. We are proud to be a part of Bainbridge Community Foundation's grant cycle. The Bainbridge Gives event runs through June 12th! Check it out! Save a life!

Woohoo! We are thrilled to announce that tomorrow our PAWS team will be out of the center (Friday, June 5th) to celebrate an incredible honor for a special volunteer.

For two years, Alison Mauer, has been a dedicated part of our Youth Mentoring program. We are thrilled that she has been awarded the "Rising Star" Youth Award from Kitsap Community Foundation for 2026! She will receive her award tomorrow at their annual gala supporting philanthropy in Kitsap County.

We will be sharing more of Ali's story and award celebration tomorrow!

We are so proud of you, Ali. Congratulations! 🌠🌠🌠

Meet Alison Mauer, our 2026 Rising Star Youth Award honoree 🌟

At just 16 years old, Ali has already logged more than 200 volunteer hours at West Sound PAWS, and she's just getting started. What began as a visit to the Pleasant Beach Village Adoption Center with a friend turned into a calling.

Ali now works regular shifts greeting visitors, helping match cats with the right families, and mentoring fellow youth volunteers. Her supervisors say her peers look to her for guidance, and that she approaches every task with a sense of responsibility remarkable for someone her age.

She's also helped with fundraising events, socialized cats with behavioral issues, and participated in the beloved Read to a Cat program with local elementary students.

Ali, we are so proud to celebrate you on June 5th. You are the future of philanthropy in Kitsap. 💛

Join us at the Kitsap Celebration of Philanthropy to applaud this remarkable young woman in person.
