🎭❤️ OPENING NIGHT IS THIS FRIDAY! ❤️🎭

The James Street Players are getting ready to kick off our run of FOOTLOOSE: THE MUSICAL, and this production holds an especially meaningful place in our hearts.

As we prepare to take the stage, we are proud to dedicate the entire run of Footloose to the loving memory of our beloved Michael Sherwood. ❤️

Michael was a cherished part of the James Street Players family, and his presence, love, and spirit have left a lasting mark on all of us. While he may no longer be standing beside us, we know that a piece of him will be there with us every time the curtain rises, every note is sung, and every step is danced.

This weekend, we don’t just perform — we celebrate Michael. We celebrate the memories, the laughter, the friendships, and the love he brought into our JSP family. We hope to make him proud and honor his memory by doing what he loved so much: bringing people together through theatre. ❤️

As both Vice President of the James Street Players Board of Directors and someone fortunate enough to call Mike Sherwood a friend and fellow cast member, I wanted to share a few personal thoughts.

There are some people in community theater who may not always be in the spotlight, but somehow become part of the heart of it.

That was Mike Sherwood.

He was always there—supporting productions from the audience, volunteering wherever he was needed, sharing ideas, encouraging others, and helping our theater community grow simply by being involved.

Mike didn’t just love community theater—he helped build the sense of community that makes it so special.

I was especially honored to have him as a member of our beloved Godspell cast in 2023. We shared conversations about education, theater, and the importance of bringing people together through the arts. Those are memories I will always treasure.

His kindness, enthusiasm, and unwavering support touched so many lives. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word.

The stage lights may dim, but the impact he made on this community will continue to shine brightly.

Rest peacefully, my friend. You will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all of us whose lives were brighter because you were in them. 🌞
