Our goal is big: $463,597 to help nearly double the space of the Mary Lee Maier Community Pantry.

Reaching the goal won't come from any one person. It will happen the same way so much has happened at the pantry: through a community of neighbors, families, businesses and organizations each choosing to be part of something bigger. We are already over halfway there, but we need help to reach our goal.

When the Mary Lee Maier Community Pantry first opened its doors in 2016, we saw 15-20 families each week, increasing to 37 families per week in 2018, which seemed like a huge increase.

Today, that number has grown to 100-110 families each week, and a some weeks we see over 120 families.

Thanks to the generosity of our Avon community, the pantry has continued to grow alongside that need, with neighbors donating food, volunteering their time and supporting our work.

Now, we're preparing for the next chapter.

Our Capital Campaign — More Room. More Food. More Hope. — will help us nearly double our space, giving us greater capacity to serve families, store food and essentials, add a commercial sink, and continue serving Avon school families well into the future.

For years, the Mary Lee Maier Community Pantry has provided food and essential items to Avon school families, ensuring hunger is not a barrier to learning.

As the needs of our community have grown, so has the need for a space that can keep up.

Today, we’re excited to launch the More Room. More Food. More Hope. Capital Campaign — a project that will nearly double our pantry’s space and strengthen our ability to serve Avon families for years to come.

And just like everything we do, this expansion will only be possible through the support of our community coming together.

Thank you again to the Rotary Club of Avon, Indiana! Their members helped us unload our monthly Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana Inc. order and then pack hygiene bags last week. WOW! Your service to the pantry and our community is always above and beyond. We thank you!
