For over two decades, Planet SAFE has provided safe exchanges for families who are court ordered to share custody of children with partners who have a history or documented incident of domestic violence or abuse.

“This to me is an extension of our justice system that we are mandated to carry out and we need to make sure it’s available in the community.” -Travis County Commissioner Ann Howard

If the 80% of funding is approved by Travis County officials, Planet SAFE can continue to provide an essential service for courts to keep families safe.

More than 426 safe and supervised visitations and exchanges to 39 families in the last year alone.

Thank you, Commissioner Ann Howard and Judge Meachum for speaking on behalf of SAFE and the survivors we support.

Back-to-school season at SAFE is about more than backpacks and school supplies- it’s about helping kids start the year feeling prepared, confident, and ready to thrive. 🎒✏️❤️

Thanks to our incredible community, SAFE collected 96 backpacks filled with school supplies for kids staying in our emergency shelters, receiving housing support, and accessing services across our agency.

A special shoutout to for providing free haircuts, and to Texas Capital Bank, Cloudera, and St. James Missionary Baptist Church for donating haircare products and support.

Together, we’re helping kids head back to school confident, prepared, and in style!

This , SAFE is proud to be one part of Austin’s network of support to address homelessness, public safety and public health. Our community partners send survivors to us for the specialized care we provide, just as we send people to them.

LifeWorks Austin provides housing and stability for youth and young adults working to build independence.

Caritas of Austin meets basic needs and helps families stabilize when one crisis threatens to become several.

Asian Family Support Services of Austin serves Asian and immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and trafficking with the culturally and linguistically specific care their community needs.

Local food banks like Central Texas Food Bank make sure no family is forced to choose between safety and their next meal.

SAFE’s job isn’t to be the only place a survivor ever needs. Thanks to these amazing partners, we don't have to be.

The National Conference on Domestic Violence was held in Austin this week, highlighting stories of strength from survivors, elevating the voices of advocates, and gathering community leaders who champion a world free from domestic violence.

Thanks to National Domestic Violence Hotline for organizing this powerful gathering, and thanks to SAFE team members -- including Jayden Beatty, Chief Development Officer, Peer Support Specialists Kay Aguilar and Elia Mondragon, and Deaf SHARE Director Joe Gallagher -- for sharing their expertise so more people doing this work are equipped with the tools needed to help provide safety and stability for survivors.
