This May, Park Stewards got hands on at Hamilton Pool Preserve and Southeast Metropolitan Park! 🌺🪏

At Hamilton Pool, led the session on pollinator gardens, plant identification, and native plants that help pollinators thrive. Stewards also got to take home plants of their own!!

At Southeast Metro, guided stewards through planting a new tree in the park’s orchard while learning proper tree planting techniques. The group then moved into lessons on mulching and pruning trees around the park.

Want to get involved? The next Park Stewards cohort begins this fall. Sign ups for emails relating to the next cohort will come out soon!

Big thanks to everyone who came out to Southeast Metro Park for the Austin FC Clinics 4ATX youth soccer clinic presented by St. David’s HealthCare.

Young athletes spent the evening building soccer skills, staying active, and having fun on the field with beginner friendly drills and activities. We loved seeing so much energy and excitement out at the park.

Thanks to all the families who joined us for a great evening at the park! ⚽️⚽️

Shoutout to our Night Sky Program Director, Amy Jackson, for her work on The Stars at Night, now streaming for free on PBS!

The film explores our connection to the night sky and what’s at risk as light pollution grows. It also highlights why protecting darker skies matters, something we continue to support in our Travis County parks.✨🌌

This April, our Park Stewards spent time at Reimers Ranch and Southeast Metro Park supporting stewardship efforts across Travis County!

At Reimers Ranch, stewards joined park staff to explore the park’s fauna and get a better sense of the landscape they help care for. At Southeast Metro, the group learned about trail maintenance and conservation, then headed out to help clear and improve sections of trail.

Through this program, participants build real world conservation and land management skills while contributing to the care of Travis County parks. Thanks to everyone who came out and spent time with us this month!

Interested in getting involved? A second Park Stewards cohort starts this September.

The Lower Colorado Watershed Restoration and Access (WRAP) website and survey are now live!

Visit lowercoloradoWRAP.org (or link in bio) to learn more about TCPF’s collaborative work with Great Springs Project, The Trail Conservancy, and other city, county, and agency partners. Together, we’re exploring projects and programs that aim to enhance regional connectivity, ecological health, and community vitality along the lower Colorado River corridor.
WRAP will help guide the future of about 27 miles of the Colorado River from Longhorn Dam in Austin to Webberville Park in eastern Travis County.

We want to hear from you: share your memories of the river and your ideas for its future by taking the WRAP survey today and help shape what this important stretch of the river becomes.
