🎓 **STING, Inc. 2026/2027 Kick-Off!** 🎓
STING, Inc. proudly partnered with the Powder Springs Community Taskforce and Aaliyah's Literacy and Leadership Foundation for an AWESOME 2026/2027 Kick-Off!
We were honored to welcome Mychal Wynn, author, college expert, and Founder/CEO of the Foundation for Ensuring Access and Equity, as our guest speaker. Mychal shared “Facts vs. Fiction of College Planning,” and our students and parents were amazed by the myths he debunked! His wife, Nina, also contributed by sharing real-life examples of students they have worked with throughout their college-planning journey.
Two of our Posse Scholarship nominees, Matthew Boyd and Jenesis Nairn, who have advanced to the second round of the interview process, listened closely to the valuable tips and advice shared to help them finish their senior year strong and prepared for their next steps toward college.
Representing all three organizations, Powder Springs Community Taskforce and Aaliyah's Literacy and Leadership Foundation Ambassador, Anais “Nani” Fraser, arrived early to help set up and capture photos throughout the event. Nani is a member of the McEachern Beta Club, a track star, and a member of the flag football team. She also presented our Board Member, Deborah Hibbert-Douglin with beautiful flowers in appreciation of her leadership in bringing this event together. 💐
Another Powder Springs Community Taskforce youth member, Gabriella Ezekiel, who is also a member of the McEachern Beta Club, presented Mychal Wynn with a heartfelt thank-you card for sharing his knowledge and expertise with our families. 💙
Our Board Member, Rhonda Fuller , can always be counted on to help ensure everything runs smoothly. Rhonda also shared her personal experience navigating the college-acceptance process with both her Magnet daughter and her Athlete daughter, offering valuable insight to parents and students.
Our other Board Member, Jerry Houston, shared his experience working with students who have chosen the ROTC pathway as a way to help fund their college education.
We were thrilled to welcome new STING students, parents of students in attendance, and even a parent who came specifically to gather information for her daughter, who was unable to attend! That’s what community is all about—making sure our young people have access to the information and resources they need to succeed. ❤️
What an AWESOME event! We are grateful to everyone who showed up, shared their expertise, supported our students, and helped make this kick-off a success.
Here’s to a productive, successful, and transformative school year for all of our STING students—and for students everywhere! 📚🎓✨
**Let’s make 2026/2027 our best year yet!**
