Brody's Community Boxes

Brody's Community Boxes Brody's Boxes now provides boxes of needed items to our community in the name of our son. On Sept.12, 2013 I gave birth to my only son Brody. Something special.

He was still born, or born sleeping as I like to say. He had a nuchal cord accident (the cord around his neck x2) and after 16 hours of labor I left the hospital with with a few pamphlets about grief, the number to a funeral home and a sweet card with my babies foot prints and a small blanket that they took his picture in. I had no where to keep all of these things safe and as the days went on and

the well wishes and cards came flooding in I wanted to have somewhere important to keep it all. I decided I was going to go to the store and make a box for myself. I bought an empty box, some paint, some letters and went to work making the best box I could for my boy. And I did. And I loved it and it made my journey feel more contented. I thought maybe I could make a few more and bring them to the hospital and see if they would give them to the parents of infant loss and still birth and the social worker was excited to have them - asked me to write something in each box and said she would tell the parents that receive the boxes about Brody, to give them a little support in knowing they weren't alone and that someone out there who didn't even know them cared that they lost their baby. And all of this was really important to me. So I decided that I can make boxes year round to Help others. And I would love if you could help me :)
