FOSTER/ ADOPTER NEEDED!!!
Bodie is stilllll waiting in the Town of Lancaster shelter... and his time could be running out. Bodie is a 6 year-old fixed and up to date English Shepherd who has had a rough time. His previous owner suffers from dementia and had an episode 5 months ago where he wandered off into the woods and police had to bring him back.
His owner was agitated and sensing danger, Bodie bit the police officer. While the damage was minimal, municipal kennels do not adopt out bite dogs. Moreover, the property management company who owned the home did not allow Bodie to live there anymore. The man watched with tears in his eyes as Bodie was driven away from his home. We have been unable to secure foster and Bodie is now at risk.
The kennel is getting overcrowded and he has been there a long time. He is an extremely sweet and smart boy who bonds very well to his handler. Bodie needs to lose some weight but is a low maintenance dog that is comfortable and happy in a home. He has never been fully integrated with dogs and cats so if he were to go to any home with them, the integration would have to be done slowly and carefully under the watch of one of our professional certified trainers that we have on staff. Yes, that's right... when you adopt from us, the dog receives training sessions for as long as needed. In a world gone crazy and where Bodie's owner has dementia, please consider giving this sweet boy the shelter from the storm that he so deserves. Please SHARE.
