🇺🇸 May is Military Appreciation Month 🇺🇸
This month, we proudly honor the brave veterans and military families who have served our country and continue making an impact in our communities. At Beaches Habitat for Humanity, we’re grateful for the opportunity to help build strength, stability, and hope alongside local veterans like future homeowner Reginald Cooper. 💙🏡
Reginald was stationed at Naval Station Mayport in the 1980s, serving in the Navy as a boiler technician responsible for providing steam to operate ships. As he puts it: “No steam, no go.” His work helped carry sailors wherever duty called — and safely bring them home.
The son of a pastor, Reginald has remained deeply involved in his church and community throughout his life. Despite being legally blind, he continues to lead with faith, perseverance, and resilience. Now, through Beaches Habitat, Reginald is preparing to become a homeowner for the very first time — a milestone that represents stability, independence, and a brighter future.
Thank you, Reginald, for your service and for inspiring our community. 🇺🇸✨
