Last evening, Neptune Beach Lodge No. 421 gathered for our monthly Stated Communication, and it was another strong night of education, fellowship, business, and planning for the future, with more than 40 Brethren in attendance.

Before dinner, our candidates met in the Lodge Room with the Lodge coaches and mentors for instruction. Several Brethren joined them, and it was encouraging to see the progress our candidates are making. Just as importantly, everyone in the room benefited from the experience and wisdom being shared by our mentors. Masonic education never really stops, regardless of how long you have been a Mason.

At 6:30 PM, the dinner bell rang, prayer was offered, and the Brethren sat down to another outstanding meal. Brother John Ford, Junior Warden, served salad, baked chicken thighs, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, cookies, cake, and ice cream.

Brother John continues to set the bar high. Everyone left with a full belly, and more than a few went home with a to-go container as well!

At 7:30 PM, Worshipful Master Worshipful Brother Jay Bell dropped the gavel and got the evening moving. There was plenty of business to discuss as Neptune Beach Lodge continues building upon the foundation established through our consolidation.

Another important milestone has been reached as all Lodge property is now officially under the Neptune Beach Lodge No. 421 name, thanks in large part to the assistance of the Grand Lodge attorneys.

Work on the building also continues. Our new front doors are scheduled to be installed within the next two weeks, and a work party is being organized to clean out the old offices and begin consolidating Lodge records and paperwork that will eventually be scanned for historical preservation.

The Lodge refresh and upgrade will likely be a two-to-three-year process, but the schedule is beginning to take shape. The work already completed has made a noticeable difference, and our goal is to prepare this building to serve Masonry and our community for another 20 to 30 years and beyond.

We were also pleased to welcome eight special guests from William B. Barnett Lodge No. 187.

At least, we thought they came for the fellowship.

Their Worshipful Master, Worshipful John Mautz, informed us that while the fellowship was certainly enjoyable, he believed our Traveling Trident would look even better at William B. Barnett Lodge.

Unfortunately for us, they brought enough Brethren to prove him right!

So, the Neptune Beach Lodge Traveling Trident went home with William B. Barnett Lodge No. 187. Plans are already being discussed for recovering it during their October meeting.

In the meantime, our traveling team already has its next destination. On September 1, Neptune Beach Lodge No. 421 will be traveling to Duval Lodge No. 159.

Worshipful Master Mike Diaz, consider this your advance warning. We travel hungry!

Overall, it was another great evening of fellowship, Masonic education, Lodge business, and planning for the future.

Neptune Beach Lodge continues to move forward because Brethren are willing to show up, contribute, teach, learn, work, and enjoy the fellowship that makes a Lodge strong.

Job well done, my Brothers!

Neptune Beaches First Annual All You Can Eat Shrimp Boil took place today. Worshipful Carl really out did himself with this as he has for many years. W. Carl thank you for organizing this on such short notice.

We ended up with a fantastic showing of Brothers and their families today. There was not a single brother or family memeber who went away dissatisfied. This event was such a great day of fellowship. To all those who came out to eat thank you! And to all of those who helped W. Carl set this up by volunteering your times, thanks go to you as well.

With this being the first year that it’s taken place at Neptune Beach Lodge, if you missed it don’t worry it’s coming back next year and we will catch you then!

Last night Neptune Beach Lodge held an EA degree. In the East our Brother SW Justin Martineau sat for his second degree. And each time he’s done it he’s knocked it out of the park!

The JW Johnathan Ford made an excellent “Chicken Cobbler” meal that lead to many brothers jumping back in line for more.

We welcome newly initiated Brother William to the faternity and can’t wait to watch him progress through the degrees.

We would like to thank Worshipful John Barling for coming out and giving the new Brother the lecture. WM you did a fantastic job with the lecture and will extend an invite anytime you want to sharpen your skills even more than they already are!

We also had our Brothers from Duval Lodge in attendance with us who showed up to handle some business in taking our gavel. They have graciously declined to accept the gavel on the promise that we find a way to come and visit. With our meeting nights being the same I think we can sacrifice a few brothers to come out and show them the same love that they showed us last night. Worship Mike we will come see you guys in September!

With the total coming to 42 on the night Masonry at the beach is loud and proud. There’s a lot of great things happening at Neptune Beach Lodge!

Today was a great morning of food, fellowship, education, and Masonry at Neptune Beach Lodge No. 421.

We began the day with breakfast prepared and served by Brother McMahan and Brother Botkin. We sincerely appreciate both Brothers for getting the morning started with good food and fellowship.

Following breakfast, the Lodge received a brief mid-year financial presentation covering the current status of our accounts and plans for the future stewardship and investment of Lodge funds. Strong Lodges are built not only through good ritual and fellowship, but also through responsible planning for the future.

The highlight of the morning was the conferral of the Fellowcraft Degree upon Brother Efrain Prieto. Brother Prieto comes to us from California and is currently stationed at Naval Station Mayport. We are proud to have the opportunity to be part of his Masonic journey while he serves our country here in Northeast Florida.

Worshipful Carl Thorwart presided in the East for the Degree, and Right Worshipful Mark Balester delivered the Historical Lecture. Our District Instructor for the 9th Masonic District, Right Honorable Christian Kiefer, was also in attendance, providing his usual encouragement, guidance, and attention to the quality of our ritual work.

The Fellowcraft Degree reminds us that becoming a better Mason requires continued education, disciplined labor, and the intentional development of the mind. Brother Prieto has now taken another important step in his Masonic journey and stands one degree away from being raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason.

A special thank you and congratulations to the entire Degree Team. Good ritual does not happen by accident. It requires Brothers willing to give their time, attend practices, learn their work, and hold themselves accountable to performing our ritual with the dignity and excellence it deserves.

Congratulations, Brother Efrain Prieto, on being Passed to the Degree of Fellowcraft!
Thank you to every Brother who attended, participated, prepared breakfast, practiced the ritual, and helped make today a success.

Proud to be a member of Neptune Beach Lodge No. 421.
