💜🗳️ My First Time Voting — Why It Matters 🗳️💜

This election hits different because it’s my first time voting, and I finally understand that voting isn’t just about politics—it’s about our communities, our families, and our future.

✨ Want better mental health services?
✨ More support for children and families?
✨ Better access to behavioral health care and substance use treatment?
✨ Stronger community programs and resources?

Those decisions are often made by people we elect.

As a parent advocate and someone passionate about behavioral health, I know that our voices matter. Every vote helps shape the funding, policies, and services that impact our daily lives.

💁🏽‍♀️ Sassy reminder: If you don’t use your voice, someone else will use theirs to make decisions for you!

I’m proud to cast my vote for the first time. Not just for me, but for my children, my community, and the families I serve.

🗳️ Vote. Advocate. Elevate.
💜 Because change starts when we show up.

🌸 Self-Care Saturday 🌸

Today I choose:
✨ Strength
✨ Self-Love
✨ Serenity
✨ Support
✨ Success
✨ Slaying my goals

Because healing isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. Take the nap, drink the water, set the boundary, say no without guilt, and remember:

💜 You can’t pour from an empty cup, Sassy Mama. Fill yours first!

Safety planning is never one-size-fits-all.

For Black survivors, experiences of culture, community, identity, and systemic barriers all shape what safety looks like and what support is needed.

Join Ujima for *Culturally Specific Safety Planning*, an interactive workshop designed to strengthen advocate capacity and provide practical, survivor-centered strategies for building meaningful, culturally responsive support.

Together, we'll explore how community realities impact safety planning and identify tools that help advocates show up with care, accountability, and cultural relevance.

I voted for the first time. 🗳️

As someone who advocates for mental health, families, children, and stronger communities, I realized that my voice matters not only through my work but also through my vote.

Change starts when we show up. I did my part. ❤️
