Christ Victory Center (CVC) is now gathering community voices and insights.

𝗖𝗩𝗖 officially 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 its Community Health Assessment 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, successfully covering three clusters on Day 1.

𝘜𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘏𝘈 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 Irene Wasike and 𝘊𝘝𝘊 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘴 Mourine Omucheni and Lavine Odhiambo, the team implemented a strategic approach by beginning with the most distant clusters and working closely with six dedicated data enumerators. This approach was 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘬𝘦𝘺 𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 HOYWIK’s experience, another GHA partner.

𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 to reach remote households and navigating respondent availability due to ongoing household responsibilities, the 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 remarkable 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦. UDI's Isaiah Ochieng and HOYWIK's Zachary Ngare & Mitchelle Omollo 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 own 𝗖𝗛𝗔 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀: the wins, the challenges, and the honest lessons that only come from having done the work.

𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗮𝗵 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗨𝗗𝗜'𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗻-𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀, from early community engagement to enumerator training to daily field checks, and closed with 𝘧𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘴 every partner in the room could apply immediately: preparation matters, local context matters, supervision matters, data quality is everyone's job, and listening to respondents matters most of all.

𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, led by Irene, 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 Christ's Victory Centre (𝗖𝗩𝗖) 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗻 the CHA questionnaire, informed consent, and sampling procedures, following earlier QGIS mapping and clustering work with the team.

𝗔 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵✨
This weekend, our 8 Kenyan partner organizations came together in Nakuru County for an impactful two-day training on data management. The 𝗚𝗛𝗔 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺, with Bwalya, Gwen, and Irene at the forefront, 𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗼 clean, manage, and analyze the incoming data from the Community Health Assessment (CHA). The energy in the room was palpable, as partnerships strengthened and 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦. 🌱

This 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 is not just an event; it's a 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 towards 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 are fully 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘏𝘈 𝘸𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘴 𝘶𝘱.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱: 𝗛𝗢𝗬𝗪𝗜𝗞’𝘀 𝗖𝗛𝗔 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵.📍
In our last update, 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘖𝘳𝘱𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘴, 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘞𝘪𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘴 𝘐𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘒𝘦𝘯𝘺𝘢 (HOYWIK) was preparing its enumerators for the Community Health Assessment (CHA), with training on the questionnaire, informed consent, systematic sampling, and QGIS mapping and clustering.
From September 16 to 18, 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱. With Irene from our team supporting, 𝗛𝗢𝗬𝗪𝗜𝗞'𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 covered all assigned clusters and 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝟮𝟭𝟬 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀, 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵, 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮.

As it stands, two of Global Health Action's eight implementing partners in Kenya have now taken the Community Health Assessment (CHA) into the field.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴. The Community Health Assessment (CHA) is moving forward across Global Health Action's implementing partners. With UDI having wrapped up data collection, Humanity for Orphans, Youth and Widows Initiative Kenya (HOYWIK) is next to launch.

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺, led by Irene, was in the field 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗢𝗬𝗪𝗜𝗞 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬 𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. The day combined two critical components: 𝘢 𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 on the CHA questionnaire, informed consent procedures, and systematic sampling, followed by 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴-𝘰𝘯 𝘘𝘎𝘐𝘚 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 to ensure every enumerator pair has a clear, accurate picture of their assigned survey area.
