This year, we are celebrating more than Black history—we are honoring living history. Our culture. Our people. And leadership that listens. We are lifting up our leader, Jesse Wiles, who has spent decades sitting with residents, community leaders, and stakeholders—listening to their fears, hopes, and visions—and translating those voices into real, lasting plans for community revitalization. Through our unique approach to engagement and planning, he has shown us that when you stand firm in your values and stay accountable to the people most impacted, anything is possible.
For over 45 years, we have been committed to urban planning excellence that centers Black and Brown communities—not planning for them, but planning with them. Across this country, we continue to prove that community-led planning isn’t just more equitable—it’s more powerful and sustainable.
This is our history. And it’s still being written. Let us know how we can help.
