Today, we must pause to honor the life and legacy of Reverend Jesse Jackson — a tireless advocate for justice, equality, and the dignity of all people.

For decades, he stood at the forefront of the civil rights movement, amplifying the voices of the unheard and challenging systems that denied opportunity. His courage, conviction, and unwavering faith helped shape conversations around voting rights, economic justice, and human rights across generations.

We remember his leadership. Thank you, Reverend Jackson, rest in power.

We are lifting up our leader, Jesse Wiles, who has spent decades sitting with residents, community leaders, and stakeholders—listening to their fears, hopes, and visions—and translating those voices into real, lasting plans for community revitalization. Through our unique approach to engagement and planning, he has shown us that when you stand firm in your values and stay accountable to the people most impacted, anything is possible.

For over 45 years, we have been committed to urban planning excellence that centers Black and Brown communities—not planning for them, but planning with them. Across this country, we continue to prove that community-led planning isn’t just more equitable—it’s more powerful and sustainable.

This is our history. And it’s still being written. Let us know how we can help.

APD Urban Planning & Management, LLC was honored to be featured recently as one of ESRI's Customer Success Stories. Working in small geographies such as communities and neighborhoods, using GIS tools has allowed us to understand, analyze, and visualize data at the smallest unit of measure - a parcel. With GIS as the core technology of our work, our housing, retail, and economic analysis work does not just look at what exists within the community but also the potential opportunities that others need to see. Our data-driven approach to our neighborhood planning services primarily focuses on urban neighborhoods that have suffered decades of disinvestment yet have a rich history. APD Urban's investment in GIS technology has allowed us to conduct in-depth neighborhood analysis, leading to better insights, more effective community engagement, and implementation-based decision-making.
