There is no one way to create change.

Whether it's organizing toys, sharing resources, volunteering, speaking out, or learning more about the realities of immigration detention, every action matters.

Thank you to Ashley and the group from for donating toys, helping refresh our front room, and spending time learning about El Refugio's work. Change grows through community, learning, and action.

As communities across Georgia push back against ICE’s expansion into massive detention “mega centers,” we’re reminded that solidarity is not passive. It is action. It is paying attention. It is showing up before harm becomes normalized.

Social Circle’s lawsuit is one example of what happens when people refuse to accept cages as inevitable. The fight against detention expansion belongs to all of us.

Community is power.
Solidarity is resistance.

NO CAGE CAN ERASE COMMUNITY.

Detention depends on isolation.
We answer with solidarity.

Every visit.
Every call.
Every moment of showing up reminds people they are not alone.

Help us keep community stronger than detention.
And this work continues because people choose to keep showing up.

Help us sustain hospitality, accompaniment, and action.

Rodney is home, and this is his message for the El Refugio community!

In this video, he shares his gratitude and reminds us why this work matters. Supporting El Refugio is real because this community shows up for everyone, no matter race, color, or background.

Rodney is home because people chose to show up... again and again. That is the power of community.

And the fight is not over.

Join our Circle of Care and Solidarity and help us keep showing up for those still inside.

A powerful night at for Prisontown.

Huge gratitude to our incredible partners at Koinonia and for helping create space for truth, reflection, and action. Thank you to our own Coordinator Melissa for showing up and representing El Refugio, and to everyone who joined, listened, and continues to stand up for justice.

Stories move people, but community moves change. Together, we keep building a world without cages.

At El Refugio, we believe no one should face detention alone. That is why we are standing with Rodney Taylor and fighting alongside him as he endures ongoing harm inside Stewart Detention Center.

Showing up matters. Advocacy, visibility, and support help remind people inside that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten.

Visit freerodneytaylor.com to learn more, take action, and support Rodney through his GoFundMe. Every act of solidarity makes a difference.
