“They help us make connections and expand our reach in our community.”

For more than a decade, the Accountability Courts Foundation Fund has helped provide practical support for individuals and families navigating some of life’s hardest moments — from housing and transportation assistance to everyday essentials that help people stay on track.

In partnership with the Athens Area Community Foundation, this work is creating ripple effects across Athens-Clarke County by helping families heal, restoring hope, and building a stronger community for everyone.

More good days don’t happen alone 💚
Do one thing to support someone else’s good day:
✨ Check in with a friend
✨ Send an encouraging message
✨ Invite someone to connect
✨ Share a resource or kind word

Then share it (if you’re comfortable):
💬 “Helping someone have a good day looked like…”

Because even small moments of connection can make a big difference.
Let’s remind each other: we don’t have to carry hard days alone.
Tag someone who makes your days better 💚

For clients who care about charitable giving, the OBBA may affect how and when they give. Here’s how The Athens Area Community Foundation can work with advisors and clients to explore practical giving options, like donor-advised funds and gifts of appreciated assets.

If you’re in an advisory role, you’re probably already familiar with the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and how it can impact clients. You’ve probably read the updates and summaries to start thinking through what it means for the people you work with. Many of your clients, however, are not in that...

There is something special about the moment our Annual Report arrives, whether it is landing in your mailbox, showing up in our office, or going live online. 📬✨

Why? Because it is filled to the brim with stories of you, our community, and the incredible ways we are working together to grow giving for the place we all love.

Take a look at this year’s Annual Report and see the impact in action. Our board, our staff, and most importantly, you, are creating lasting change across our region.

We are here, we are listening, and we are ready whenever you need us. 💛

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Longer days, blooming flowers, and a season of giving back! This season reminds us of what’s possible when a community comes together—new growth, fresh opportunities, and the chance to make a lasting impact. 🌻🤎

We were proud to join the celebration recognizing Books for Keeps as a 2026 Georgia Reads Community Award Winner for excellence in literacy programming. 📚

This recognition reflects the incredible impact their team continues to make by helping children build literacy skills through a robust literacy mentor program called “Storytellers”, providing books to build home libraries in their “Stop Summer Slide” program and discover all the joy and opportunity that comes through literacy.

At the Athens Area Community Foundation, we know strong communities are built when organizations, educators, families, and supporters work together to invest in the next generation. Congratulations

Green = mental health awareness 💚
This May, we’re wearing green to spark conversations and remind each other: you are not alone.
Post a photo wearing green and share your “why”:
💬 Why does mental health matter to you?
💬 What has helped you have more good days?
💬 Who are you showing up for?

There’s no right way to share—your story, your voice, your impact.
Let’s be seen. Let’s support each other. Let’s create more good days, together.

The people who care most about your mission might already be right in front of you.

Volunteers give their time because they believe in your work—and with the right connection, that passion can grow into long-term support. Building a donor pipeline doesn’t always mean finding new people. Sometimes, it’s about deepening the relationships you already have.

Learn more in our latest blog:

There is a strong passion for volunteering out there, especially in the younger generations. In fact, nearly 80% of people between 12 and 25 participate in some kind of service activity. That may mean simple, everyday efforts like organizing donation drives or helping in their community. We think th...
