Attention friends! The annual March on Court Street for Disability Awareness will take place on Friday, March 7!

We hope you can join us.

This serves as the official kick-off to Developmental Disability (DD) Awareness Month in Athens.

DD Awareness Month is a month-long observance that brings attention to the varied and unique experiences of individuals with developmental disabilities. It is a time to celebrate achievements, advocate for rights, and promote understanding and inclusivity. This year’s theme is “Uplifting Voices!”

All are welcome! Bring your friends, bring your signs, and bring your enthusiasm! Per tradition, everyone will meet outside the 4th floor entrance of Baker Center at 9:45 a.m. The route will start at Baker Center and ends at the Courthouse, where there will be a few remarks.

Today we enjoyed making different Valentines Day crafts. We can’t thank Lisa and Travis enough for making these hearts and coming in and showing us how to decorate them! 💕

We didn’t manage to get too many pictures today. But we started our morning off by going to White's Mill afterwards we had lunch at the famous Larry's Dawg House! We then ended our day with karaoke, arts with Chris, and the first practice for the year with the Athens County Community Singers! 😊

Great day at the SE Ohio Foodbank & Kitchen! We successfully packed 118 boxes! Afterwards we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Hungry Buffalo Restaurant! Thank you both for having us! 😊

We hope everyone has had a great start to the new year, it’s been awhile since our last post! We enjoyed a quick trip to bowling yesterday and stopping by the mall for lunch! 🎳

We made Christmas cards and passed them out to The Kimes nursing home and we also volunteered at Athens First United Methodist Church after their Monday lunch service! Nothing better than getting out in the community and spreading Holiday Cheer!

A group worked hard to prep for our dinner tomorrow! We made strawberry cheesecake, noodles, baked beans, green bean casserole and deviled eggs. We are ready for a great dinner tomorrow with some great people! The other group enjoyed a fun trip to Hobby Lobby and Raising Canes! 😊
