Yes, the rumors are true, the Lucky Calendar Fundraiser program has returned, back by popular demand!

🎁 The 2027 Lucky Calendars with raffle tickets have been delivered to each unit:

1. A raffle ticket is stapled in the calendar. We are selling the raffle ticket for $25, and the calendar comes with it.

2. There are 101 chances to win! The first drawing will be January 15, 2027 for a $500 prize. Every Monday of the year the drawing will be $50, and every Friday will be $75. The final drawing on December 31, 2027 will be for a $1,000 prize!

3. If you win, your ticket goes right back into the tumbler and you have a chance to win again and again!

⚒️ Funds raised benefit both BCHC and the individual units. Pick one (or more) up for your household, buy one for friends, spread ‘em around for holiday presents! Invite friends to purchase their own.

Calling all backcountry, packing, riding, trails, equestrian and public lands for public people folks!

We're gathering donations for the Los Padres Unit Back Country Horsemen Holiday Shindig & Auction scheduled Dec. 16 at Edwards Barn in Nipomo. The event is open to the public. (Tickets $25 by contacting [email protected] or at any BCHC-LP meeting.)

This is a great group of people who put in countless volunteer hours maintaining trails and protecting backcountry access for all of us.

If you have a product, service, gift certificate, or something fun to donate, we'd really appreciate your support - and in turn we'll promote your business through public thanks of your donation!

Equestrian trail volunteers from Backcountry Horsemen of California - Los Padres Unit , Atascadero Horsemen's Club , SLOPOST and independent riders joined trail runners, hikers, CCC employees and LPFA employees for the Los Padres Forest Association trail work day Saturday on Little Falls Trail up Upper Lopez Canyon.

The 20-worker team divided into groups to tackle the trail and made it within about 1/2 mile from Hi Mtn. Road (FR30S11). Crosscut teams removed mangled messes, brushing teams cleared the way for tread building teams. Together we were rewarded by a spectacular, clear, walk back to the trailhead with all that overgrowth, deadfall and tread readied for visitors again.

Watch the calendar for the next workday to wrap up this route and potentially start/finish Big Falls for a complete return of this fabulous wilderness route.
