People ask why we keep showing up for this community.

The answer is simple: this community showed up for us first. 🤎

These are our neighbors, our nieces and nephews, the kids who'll be running this city in fifteen years. Otis and Rosie Brown believed you invest in people before they need proof they're worth investing in — that's the whole idea behind this foundation.

So we'll keep filling backpacks. Keep opening doors. Keep reminding every student here that somebody is in their corner.

That's not charity. That's family. 🎒📚

When we invest in a leader, we're really investing in every young person who walks through their door.

Meet Erika Molett, founder of Beyond the Ball and one of our grantees doing extraordinary work. With grant support from the Otis & Rosie Brown Foundation, Erika has:

✈️ Used our passport initiative to take students overseas to the game in Paris — for many, a first passport and a first flight
⌚ Introduced them to wearable technology and the data science behind performance
🚪 Built exposure experiences that show what a career in and around sports can actually look like

That's the model: meet young people where their passion is, then widen the room. Erika, thank you for stewarding this work with so much heart.

Cap and gown season gets the applause, but this room — the parents, the mentors, the teachers who stayed late, the students who kept going when it would've been easier not to — this is where it actually gets built.
