Every athlete who scores a goal on our fields will one day walk into a job interview.

The question: Will the person across the table see what we see? The teammate who shows up early. The athlete who refuses to quit. The kid who cheers loudest when someone else scores.

People with disabilities hold jobs at roughly one-third the rate of people without disabilities. Not for lack of talent, drive, or reliability. For lack of open doors.

October marks National Disability Employment Awareness Month, but the work does not end Oct. 31. Ask your HR team how it recruits candidates with disabilities. Push for accessible applications and interviews. Hire, mentor, or refer someone. Support businesses that do the same.

Talent shows up in every form. Make sure your workplace knows it.

What a day for adaptive sports in North Texas!

We loved being part of the 2026 DFW/UTSW Adaptive Sports Expo, where 443 participants, 60 volunteers, and 44 community organizations came together to celebrate adaptive sports, wellness, and inclusion.

For The Sandlot, opportunities like this are about more than showing up. They’re about connecting with athletes and families, learning from other organizations doing incredible work, and building a stronger community where people with disabilities have more opportunities to get in the game.

We’re grateful to everyone who stopped by our table to say hello, learn more about The Sandlot, and share in a day that showed what’s possible when inclusion takes center stage.

Everyone belongs in the game.

We’re throwing it back to last Thursday, when our community showed up in a BIG way.

Want to bowl with 105.3 The Fan while supporting The Sandlot? Don't miss your chance to bid!

Speedway Children's Charities-Texas is supporting The Sandlot and other children’s charities through the second annual Tony Stewart Bowling Tournament on Oct. 14 at Bowlero in Euless.

Each show on 105.3 The Fan will field its own team of four, with listeners bidding for their chance to hit the lanes. Bidding is underway, with proceeds supporting Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas and organizations like The Sandlot that serve children across North Texas.

Winning bidders will receive bowling, food and drinks, goody bags, a team photo with NASCAR legend Tony Stewart, and the chance to bowl alongside some pretty incredible guests.

Bidding closes Wednesday, Sept. 23.
