Team members joined the celebration at the ribbon-cutting for the new White Oak Foundation, Inc. townhome community in Cary. A project more than a decade in the making, White Oak Townhomes brings 30 new residences to the community, including 15 affordable units for households earning 80% or less of the area median income. North State Bank provided financing to support this development, helping expand access to quality, attainable housing in one of the region’s fastest-growing areas.

The celebration brought together community leaders, partners, and stakeholders to recognize the impact of this work and the vision behind the broader White Oak Foundation campus, which continues to invest in housing, education, child development, and community-focused spaces.

With Dedication of White Oak Townhomes, New Affordable Housing Comes to Apex: Affordable housing remains one of the biggest challenges facing Apex families, so the arrival of new homes designed to keep neighbors rooted in our growing community is welcome news. The newly dedicated White Oak Townhomes add 30 residential units on Dominion Crest Drive, with half set aside for residents earning modest incomes.

According to The Line, 'Apex residents have new options for affordable housing this week following the dedication ceremony for White Oak Townhomes,' with '15 three-bedroom, 2.5-bath units' sold at market value and '15 will be designated for residents making 80% or less of the area median income.' The Line reports the campus also includes 'a daycare, medical clinic, food pantry, and senior activities center onsite,' with plans for '60 new units of affordable rental housing for seniors, a $20 million project.'

The Line quotes Apex Mayor Jacques Gilbert, who said, 'This is about more than housing affordability—it represents stability, dignity and long-term community impact. White Oak Foundation has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to service that will impact our communities for decades.' As foundation Executive Director Rev. Charles R. Tyner, Sr. told The Line, 'The official opening of White Oak Townhomes is a special moment for our organization and for the community.'
