Join us for our monthly program on the first and fourth Tuesday of each month, where we will be showcasing films with diverse themes around sexuality and gender. This program is co-hosted with the Carolina Aging Alliance. All folks 18+ are welcome!

Lets Talk About Mental Health and Wellness in North Carolina!
Sign up by August 31st.

Share your experiences with mental health supports and needs for LGBTQ+ older adults! The purpose of this study is to explore the mental health needs of LGBTQ+ older adults in North Carolina. Participating in this project could inform future research and programming from Carolina Aging Alliance, Triad Retirement Living Association, and other community partners in NC.

Participants must be 45 years or older, LGBTQ+ Living in North Carolina, able to read and speak English Able to access audio and video technology capabilities, and willing to discuss topics related to mental health.

What will you do? This study will involve you completing a brief questionnaire, a 90-minute focus group with other LGBTQ+ community members in NC, and one review of the insights from the group.

Compensation: You will receive a $30 Visa gift card after completing all study procedures.

Carolina Aging Alliance is hosting a Coffee and Conversation Discussion Group in Durham, every Wednesday morning 10-11:30 AM. We will be meeting in the food court on the second floor of Southpoint Mall.

Please note the meeting day for this event has changed to Wednesdays.

You might want to stop to get your coffee/other beverage on the first floor at Starbucks or on the second floor at Cinnabon. If you’re trying to find us, look for the rainbow flags.
See old friends and make new friends. This gathering is open to all.

If your time allows, please plan to continue the conversation during lunch in the food court.

Join us to learn and play Spades Card game every Sunday 2 PM - 6 PM and every Wednesday 3 PM - 6 PM at Transfer Food Hall, 500 E Davie St.,Raleigh.

Players are welcome to join in anytime during that time period. There is no cost to participate, and everyone is welcome to come join the fun and socialize with friends and new acquaintances.

You can participate whether you are a beginner, average or accomplished player, or someone coming just to observe. Spades is a very popular and fun card game that is easy to learn how to play. If you have never played but would like to learn the game, our participating players will be glad to teach the game to you.

Teams are composed of two players. If you have a team partner you are set to go, and singles will be paired with other single players.

Meet at 9:00 AM for a lively dose of nature and vibrant vibes? Join Carolina Aging Alliance and take a leisurely stroll along the 2.5-mile path while chit-chatting with your neighbors. To find us, enter through the New Garden Road entrance. If the Visitor Parking Lot is packed, just follow the road and park in one of the other Auxiliary Lots or across the street in the Gravel Parking Lot. Meet up with us at the Visitor Center, and let's saunter through the park together.

After the walk, join us for coffee at Green Joe's, located at 2915 Battleground Ave in Greensboro. It's time to lace up your walking shoes and join the fun!

Beginning June 3 and continuing through the month of August, we will be doing our Sunday and Wednesday walks at Lake Lynn. For those who haven't been there before, Lake Lynn is located at 7921 Ray Road. We will meet near the entrance to the trail at 10:00. Coffee will be at our regular location, New World Cafe (5900 Duraleigh Rd). For those who just want to meet for coffee, we usually arrive between 11:00 and 11:15

In case of inclement weather or if it's excessively hot (feels-like temperature 85 or higher at the time of the walk we will walk at Crabtree Mall. An email will be sent out should this be the case.
