Join Orange County Department on Aging’s LGBTQ+ SRT for our monthly dinner and movie series. As we celebrate Pride month what better way to honor this year’s theme of “Reflect, Empower, Unite” than with June’s film showing of PRIDE.

PRIDE is inspired by an extraordinary true story.
It's the summer of 1984, Margaret Thatcher is in power and the National Union of Mineworkers is on strike, prompting a London-based group of gay and le***an activists to raise money to support the strikers' families. Initially rebuffed by the Union, the group identifies a tiny mining village in Wales and sets off to make their donation in person. At first, the partnership is met with confusion and resistance—both cultural and personal—but over time, genuine friendships form. The two groups learn from one another, challenge their own assumptions, and ultimately unite in a powerful stand for solidarity and justice.
As the strike drags on, the two groups discover that standing together makes for the strongest union of all.

Co-hosted by Carolina Aging Alliance and Project EngAGE LGBTQ+ Senior Resource Team

Contact method is required upon registration. Don’t forget to register with the Passmore Center at 919-245-2015. Dinner will be served at 5:30 pm – all dinners will be potluck.

You are welcome to door dash or bring a meal just for yourself.
