Apex Toastmasters meets every Thursday at 7:00 pm at Apex Baptist Church in downtown Apex, NC. Our diverse club membership is always supportive to those starting out, with helpful feedback and mentoring to build confidence. Come as a guest and see what it's all about!

💼 On the Job at Apex Toastmasters!

Our August 27 meeting proved that the workplace offers far more than deadlines and meetings—it also gives us stories, lessons, challenges, humor, and opportunities for growth.

Toastmaster Shelly Ryder guided us through the evening’s theme, “On the Job,” while our speakers delivered three engaging speeches:

🎤 Bob Sackmann, DTM — Bend, Oregon
🎤 Phoebe T. Thermitus — Change Happens
🎤 Prashant Agarwal — The Best $2 I’ve Ever Spent

The evening also featured creative Table Topics led by Kameswari Sriadibatla, thoughtful evaluations, workplace-inspired contributions from our functionaries, and plenty of laughter and learning along the way.

A heartfelt thank-you to every speaker, evaluator, role holder, guest, and member who contributed to another meaningful meeting. Whether we are communicating at work, navigating change, or inspiring others, Toastmasters helps us become more confident and effective leaders—both on the job and beyond.

🐾 **A Meeting Full of Stories, Smiles & Paw-sitivity!** 🐾

What a wonderful evening at **Apex Toastmasters** on August 20!

In celebration of **National Dog Month**, our meeting theme reminded us of some of the qualities our four-legged friends demonstrate so naturally — **loyalty, friendship, courage, patience, and unconditional support.** 🐶❤️

And just like every great Toastmasters meeting, the evening had a little bit of everything!

🎤 **Kiran Manjunath** reminded us about *“Quality over Quantity!”*
🎤 **Suzanne James** took us down memory lane with *“Class Reunions: Just Go! Trust Me!”*
🎤 **Komot Gabriel** captured something many of us can relate to with *“My Brain Has 37 Tabs Open.”* 😄

We also enjoyed spontaneous thinking during **Table Topics**, thoughtful evaluations, some much-needed humor, our Word of the Day, and a great team of members stepping into meeting roles and helping everything come together.

Toastmasters is not only about becoming a better speaker. It is about **showing up, trying something new, supporting one another, and growing together — one meeting at a time.**

A big thank-you to **Chandra B**, our Toastmaster for the evening, and to everyone who spoke, evaluated, volunteered for a role, or simply brought their energy and encouragement to the room.

🌊 Making Waves at Apex Toastmasters! 🌊

What a fantastic meeting we had last night at Apex Toastmasters!

Our theme for the evening was “Ocean” — a reminder that while the ocean may not solve our problems, it has a beautiful way of reminding us how small our worries are and how endless our possibilities can be.

The evening was filled with wonderful speeches, thoughtful evaluations, spontaneous Table Topics, plenty of smiles, and most importantly — connection and growth.

Just like the ocean, every Toastmasters meeting brings a new wave — a new idea, a new story, a new challenge, and another opportunity to grow.

A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the evening so memorable! 💙

What a fantastic evening at Apex Toastmasters!

Our “Master the Art of Conversation & Connection” workshop with Al Herr, DTM, of ImprovED was engaging, energetic, and full of practical learning. We explored how to move beyond routine small talk, ask better open-ended questions, listen with full attention, use humor, and make conversations more inclusive.

The interactive exercises—including mirroring, “Yes, And,” topic switching, and Freeze Tag—gave everyone a chance to practice being present, adaptable, and confident in real conversations.

A big thank-you to Al for leading such a memorable session, and to everyone who attended and participated so enthusiastically. The laughter, learning, and connections made the evening truly special!
