A Message from the District of Columbia Baptist Convention
Today, the Southern Baptist Convention voted once again to further restrict the role of women in pastoral leadership. The District of Columbia Baptist Convention remains steadfast in our commitment to supporting the call of God on the lives of all people.
As Rev. Dr. Trisha Miller Manarin shared, DCBC believes that God continues to pour out the Holy Spirit on all people. We celebrate the gifts, leadership, and ministry of women who faithfully serve Christ and His Church. We will continue to be a convention that follows the leading of the Holy Spirit as revealed throughout Scripture, encouraging all whom God has called to preach, teach, serve, and lead.
Today, we hold space for those who may feel discouraged, unseen, or wounded by this decision. We want you to know that you are valued, your gifts matter, and your calling is worthy of support and affirmation. May we continue to walk together in faith, grace, and love, trusting that God is still calling people from every background to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ.
"I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy..."
– Acts 2
