Help Keep Our Neighbors Warm This Winter

As winter approaches, FACETS is seeking churches and community partners to help provide a warm, safe place for individuals experiencing homelessness through its Hypothermia Program.

The program provides overnight shelter, meals, and supportive services when temperatures become dangerously cold. Several weeks in Falls Church still need coverage:

November 27–December 3, 2026
December 6–12, 2026
December 27, 2026–January 2, 2027
January 31–February 6, 2027
March 14–20, 2027
March 21–27, 2027
March 28–April 3, 2027

Two Ways to Help

Host a week: Provide your church or organization space, while FACETS provides staffing, supplies, meals, and program support.

Support a host church or community organization: Provide volunteers, meals, hospitality, setup/cleanup, or other assistance.

Every contribution helps keep our neighbors safe and warm this winter.

Interested in helping? Contact Nina Calderin at [email protected] or 571-208-2877 to learn more or discuss how your church can participate.

Thank you for helping FACETS care for our community. FACETS

Many thanks to this wonderful artist!

On behalf of the ACCA Child Development Center, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to artist John Hartt for his generous donation. This magnificent painting will forever grace our main building in a prominent indoor location. The children, parents, and educators who have already seen it are in love with the work. A creation like this does far more than decorate a space—it inspires, and perhaps one of our young learners will become a Michelangelo in the making, with your artwork serving as the spark that kindles their lifelong passion for the arts. Thank you, John, for bringing such vibrant beauty and creative energy to our program!

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and donated to the annual CROP Walk last weekend!

The Annandale CROP Walk was held at Lake Accotink on Saturday, October 10. This walk raises funds for Church World Service (CWS) to support efforts worldwide to fight hunger and poverty, respond to disasters, and assist refugees. Many thanks to the 53 walkers and volunteers who participated in the walk. As of October 10, the Annandale walk raised $9720. Posters from 16 children were also displayed at the walk.

Pictured are some of our 4-legged walkers and their human, the original organizer of the first Annandale Crop Walk (in 1979), our representative Belinda from Church World Service, and some of the posters made by local children.
