Valerie had an interesting encounter with some other NOVA students today (Tuesday). So I thought I would explain that my (Valerie) motto/phrase for this dance club is that "we welcome all dance styles and all experience levels". I repeat it all the time. I love dance, and I work at Born 2 Dance Studio which is known for having such diversity. Since I started dancing when I was 3 years old I have learned ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, modern, urban burlesque, whacking, popping, locking, voguing, belly dance, salsa, bachata, merengue, Argentine tango, Zumba (that included various styles some I don't even realize: Bollywood, Latin dances, Irish, Brazilian Samba, and more), exotic dance, Persian dance, break dance (AKA bboying), cheer leading.. I think that's it.. Hehe.. That being said, I welcome all styles!! &Ndc has so many members and friends with experience levels literally everywhere from NO dance experience to semi-PROS. Yes, you could say the majority of Ndc consists of hip-hop, Bboy, and krumpers, BUT each dancer for their own style in those categories are very passionate and involved and it just so happens there's more of us. I have said to my members that I want to find ways to get dancers in the other styles more involved somehow but I haven't quite figured out the way. That's why I need your voices and we would love to see these other beautiful dance styles!! My friends who are bboys and krumpers and NDC officers are inspired by other styles too. Andy Thammasathiti -NDC VP- and I founded this club, but before that, we met in a NOVA Modern Dance Class! This club has become like my baby lol it means a lot. So know that I mean what I say! I could keep going any time but i will try to stop myself now :p but i hope this gives a better understanding of NDC and myself. Dont be afraid to join, ask questions, give ideas, make friends, learn, watch, etc. NDC cant be successful if we don't know what students want. Thank you! Post "Dance to live" if you read this entire thing :)
