The Mamas Network will be at the September 19 Community Resource Fair at the Ypsilanti Farmers Markets. We're going to bring a tent, so you can get out from under the sun (or rain?) and relax a bit before venturing on to other tables! We're here for you! Come say hi and check out all of the resources our area has to offer!

We’re officially about halfway through the season! We’ve got the rest of August, September, and October still ahead of us... 🍎🫛🌽

Looking ahead, our Community Resource Fair is coming up on September 19, and our final downtown market lands on Halloween! We’ll have an extra-spooky market day to close out the season, followed by one final Mini Market at B-Cubed Bakery on November 7 before we head into our winter markets.

Save this post and keep our season schedule handy. We’ll see you at the market!

First-time mom confession: I thought nursing meant one b**b worked at a time. 🫠
Turns out, when one has a letdown, the other one spray-paints the room like a fire hydrant. RIP to all my dry shirts before I discovered nursing pads.

It’s been busy over here and one side quest we’ve been working on is the The Mamas Thrift Closet. At first it was one rack and then it became five racks and now that it’s been living outside in our gathering, space, it needs to go inside to fulfill its namesake as the thrift closet. So here’s a quick update. I feel like by the end of this week. The closet will be ready for people to go in and shop and later on this year if we get a group of moms who wanna hang out and paint and chilled let me know.

Everything on the rack is $5 or less, and are all gently worn and donated by moms for moms and other women who are looking to refresh their wardrobe or grab pieces that they need without spending a lot of money. Plus this keeps textiles out of landfills!

From day one, women are sold the idea that having children is the ultimate sacrifice.

And somewhere along the way, that message got twisted to mean sacrificing ourselves—our identity, our mental health, and our needs. When the focus is entirely on taking care of everyone else, it feels like the sacrifice is your very own identity.

Moms today are fed up with being left behind.

It doesn't have to be this way. Motherhood was never meant to be done in isolation.

We’ve learned that when you have a community to softly land in—a network of mothers behind you—our community takes care of you, so you can take care of your family.

Moms don't have to do this alone anymore. Your village is here. 💛

Drop a 🙋‍♀️ in the comments if you’re done doing this alone, or tag a mom in your village who’s had your back through it all! 👇
