The hit comedy musical "Once Upon a Mattress" is coming to Ankeny Community Theatre, June 12-21!

Many moons ago in a far-off place, Queen Aggravain decreed no couples could marry until her son, Prince Dauntless, found a bride. Princesses came from far and wide to win the hand of the prince, but none could pass the impossible tests given to them by the Queen. That is, until the “shy” swamp princess Winnifred showed up. Would she be able to pass the Sensitivity Test and marry her prince? This rollicking spin on the classic tale The Princess and the Pea provides some side-splitting shenanigans!

Last but not least, we're ending our 45th season on a high-note with a second musical! Assassins, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by John Weidman.

Nine individuals who assassinated or tried to assassinate the President of the United States gather on stage to explore the dark side of the American Dream. From John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald, a story unfolds of our nation’s culture of celebrity and the violent means some will use to obtain it. Bold, original, disturbing and alarmingly funny, this multiple Tony Award-winning show doesn’t hold back.

Assassins will be directed by Charissa Hamel.
