Thank you Ryan Harrell and 1st Farmer’s Bank & Trust in Elwood, for your generous donation of $10,000 to help our families impacted by the floods. Ryan has come on board with AHA to help with our FSS program and we are grateful for this new partnership.

FYI

FEMA disaster assistance is now available. Impacted Hoosiers should visit disasterassistance.gov to submit an application for FEMA Individual Assistance. If individuals need help completing the application, FEMA has established a support hotline at 1‑800‑621‑3362.

Please note that FEMA disaster assistance is separate from the State Disaster Relief Fund. Individuals who have already applied for the State Disaster Relief Fund must also submit a FEMA Individual Assistance application to be considered for federal support. More details are available at the link below.

IMPORTANT FLOOD ASSISTANCE CLARIFICATION

The Anderson Housing Authority has been made aware information is circulating indicating that AHA has temporary housing vouchers available for individuals and families displaced by the recent flooding. This information is incorrect. At this time, AHA has not received temporary, emergency, or disaster housing vouchers from HUD or any other federal agency for flood victims. We are currently assessing the impact on households already participating in AHA programs and will provide assistance within the limits of our existing federal programs and resources.

We understand the urgent need for housing following the flooding and do not want families relying on inaccurate information or being unnecessarily redirected to AHA. If additional federal resources, emergency vouchers, or other housing assistance become available, AHA will immediately share that information through our official channels.

Thank you.

Important Information⬇️

No Hoosier should lose their insurance coverage or be left without a safe place to stay because a disaster turned their life upside down.

New assistance can help displaced families secure emergency hotel stays or move into temporary rental housing. Insurance companies are also being urged to pause cancellations and late-payment penalties for directly affected policyholders.

The graphic below explains what help is available and how to access it. Please save it, share it and check on a neighbor who may need it.

Families need stability and breathing room to rebuild. We will continue working to make sure they receive both.

For the residents of Madison Lakes Apartments that are on the Section 8 HCV Program, we have made several attempts to reach the corporate office to escalate a response to the flooding situation at the property. As of today, we have only been able to interact with their call center, but please be assured, we are doing everything we can to assist in getting this issue mitigated as quickly as possible. This is not an issue the city of Anderson can resolve due to this being private property. We will make updates once we hear from the owners. Thank you!
