🚨 DISASTER RELIEF EVENT - ANDERSON INDIANA🚨

DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Department of Indiana is coming to Madison County to help veterans and their families recover from the recent severe weather.

📅 THURSDAY, AUGUST 27, 2026
🕑️ 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
📍 American Legion Post 127
4118 Columbus Ave, Anderson, IN 46013

We will begin setting up at 9:00 am and start processing requests as soon as we are ready. Our benefits advocates will be on site to meet with veterans one-on-one and begin processing requests for assistance through the DAV Natural Disaster Relief Program. Walk-ins welcome - no appointment needed.

Don't have your paperwork? Come anyway. Many veterans lost documents in the same weather that damaged their homes. We will work with you.

WHO QUALIFIES: Any veteran whose home or property was damaged. You do NOT have to be a DAV member. There is no cost and no obligation - ever.

Our thanks to the American Legion Family #127, Anderson, Indiana for opening their doors and hosting this effort. When veterans organizations work together, veterans win.

MADISON COUNTY — WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TOMORROW!

If you’ve been working all week and wondering “How can I help?” — tomorrow is your chance.

We need a BIG turnout of volunteers to help remove debris from homes impacted by the flooding throughout Madison County.

📍 Volunteer Check-In: Bethany Christian Church, 1920 N. Rangeline Rd., Anderson
🕗 Saturday | 8 AM–4 PM
18 and older only

If you can, be there at 8 AM! Getting a strong group there first thing means we can get teams out to more homes and make a huge impact throughout the day.

Can’t make it at 8? Come when you can through 3pm. We’ll continue sending volunteers out to homes where work is already underway throughout the day.

Heart of Indiana United Way is coordinating these volunteer efforts in partnership with local Emergency Management and IDES (International Disaster Emergency Services). IDES team members are leading volunteer groups on-site at impacted homes and helping make sure the work is done safely and where it’s needed.

Grab a friend. Bring your family, coworkers, church group or service club. Give us a few hours—or give us the day.

Our Madison County neighbors need us. Let’s show up BIG tomorrow.

Good morning thank you to ALL who have donated, volunteered, and helped arrange items.

I am so grateful.We no longer need donations of any kind. We are truly blessed!!!

Volunteers are still greatly needed for today & tomorrow but we can see the light of the end of the tunnel now as organization.

Our current need is the transporting of the tons of clothing redonated to Wheeler Mission on 96th St. In Fishers or an organization of your choice that is still accepting women's clothing. We will be open today 10:30am-7pm.
