Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays 🎄
For many in our community, the holidays are not filled with gatherings, warmth, or family support.
This time of year can be especially heavy for people experiencing homelessness. Isolation, grief, unmet medical needs, and the absence of a safe place to belong can make the holidays feel overwhelming. Suicidal thoughts often increase during this season — not because people want to die, but because they want the pain, loneliness, and exhaustion to stop.
At Alaskan Way, we hold space for our clients with compassion, dignity, and care — meeting people where they are and reminding them that they matter.
If you have the chance this season, take a moment to slow down. Sit with someone. Listen without fixing. Sometimes being heard is the most powerful gift we can offer.
To those who are struggling: you are not invisible, and you are not alone.
To our community: thank you for choosing empathy, presence, and kindness.
From all of us at Alaskan Way, we wish you a peaceful holiday season and a new year rooted in hope and human connection.
