The Anchorage Fire Explorers Post 264 is hosting their annual Open House for anyone (grades 9-12) interested in learning more about the Fire Explorers program and getting an introduction to the fire service.
The Open House will give you an opportunity to meet current members and advisors, learn more about what we do, and get a closer look at the equipment and facilities used by the fire service. You will also have the chance to ask questions about the program, what members can expect, and the different skills and experiences that come with being a Fire Explorer.
Whether you are considering a future career in the fire service, looking for a way to get involved in your community, or simply interested in learning something new, we encourage you to come out and see what Post 264 has to offer.

Join Anchorage Fire Explorers Post 264 for an exciting Open House Recruitment Night in 2026! This is a great opportunity for people (grades 9-12) interested in firefighting, emergency services, leadership, and serving their community, to learn what the Fire Explorers program is all about. Come meet members and leaders of Post 264, tour the facility, learn about fire service training and activities, and get an inside look at what it takes to become a Fire Explorer! Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, meet fellow future firefighters, and discover hands on experiences that can build confidence, teamwork, leadership, and valuable life skills.

Explorers is over, and our seniors are moving on. On Saturday, May 9th, we said goodbye to this year’s explorers and wished them good luck in their future endeavors. Some are going out of state for college like Explorer Westman, others are taking some gap year like Chief Bailey, while some spend their time in Fairbanks like Chief Sorsdahl and Senior Captain Colvin! We wish them the best of luck wherever they end up! 🇺🇸

Yesterday, our explorers had their end-of-year party! While seniors painted their bricks, everyone enjoyed food, games and music outside. 🇺🇸
