Eight scouts from the High Adventure Patrol went on a 🧗‍♂️ guided climbing tour with Willard Mountain Guides to Rumney Cliffs this weekend. 🧗 The scouts all did awesome, pushing through the hard stuff to reach the top. They worked well as a team, helping each other find holds, encouraging each other when the going got tough, taking turns belaying, and even trading gear when necessary. At camp,🏕️ they made delicious chicken pot pie in the Dutch ovens, followed by yummy s’mores and campfire 🔥 stories about Bigfoot. 🫈 Sunday, they did a practice hike at Stinson Mountains 🏔️ with full gear to prepare for Philmont.

Last full day at Yawgoog - merit badge wrap up, 1-mile road race, swim carnival and closing campfire.

Programming Day 4 - another day of liquid sunshine, that couldn’t wash away our scout spirit. The evening highlight was the costume contest and sailing regatta.

Programming Day 3! Red shirts with lots of liquid sunshine. The scout spirit couldn’t be washed away by Mother Nature. All merit badges went off as scheduled despite the weather. The troop entered the bake off with T22 G taking third place overall! And we held our annual campfire program with T222 from Norwalk, CT

Programming Day 2 - Merit badges were interrupted by the Troop playing on Adventure Island, and later in the day throwing axes. In the evening, the troop participated in the camp scavenger hunt. We were also able to hold board of reviews for 3 scouts - congratulations on those 3 scouts for earning their ranks.

On Monday, Yawgoog came alive with programming kicking off. Scouts are taking a variety of merit badges from mammal study and fingerprinting to Eagle required merit badges such as Citizenship in Community, swimming, and sustainability.

During the scouts free time they went out on paddle boards and tried their luck fishing.

And Troop 22 is back at Camp Yawgoog for week 5 of the 2026 season. Sunday is a quiet day with swim test, pictures, camp setup and orientation during dinner.
