We are grateful for the rich conversation on Monday that we had on WDCX Radio with Neil Boron of NBL, Jon Grimaldi, Executive Director of Every Child, and Erica McFarland, EC's Marketing Director this Foster Care Awareness Month!
Joining us in the studio, guest Carolyn Kiddy of Kenmore Alliance Church , one of our TBRI (Trauma-Informed) Practitioners, shared about how to build an environment for kids to "feel safe", and how that provides a space to build relationships & shows grace(connection), compassion, and gentle correction when needed, and the importance of churches training churches how to care for kiddos even better!
We were also thankful to welcome back guest, Pastor Pete Jankowski , lead pastor of Life Church Buffalo who called in and shared the exciting news that in February, their son Aiddan officially & legally became a Jankowski through adoption! He shared how the journey of parenting, and specifically fostering, revealed his own selfishness, and how God's grace is sufficient!!! Pastor Pete & his family lead by example, and not just from the stage during a Sunday sermon, and that was evident as he shared! He also challenged listeners to ask the Lord what He is calling them to do in caring for vulnerable children!
