📢 Do not miss out on Wednesday's, "IRF Denial and Appeal Impacts", webinar, on 01/18/2023 at 2pm Eastern. The focus of the webinar will be on IRF contractors, the Review Choice Demonstration (RCD) and common IRF denial and appeal approaches. We also will touch on the recently announced OIG IRF Audit for fiscal year 2024.

The RCD is a demonstration that is meant to ensure that payments for IRF services are appropriate through either a pre claim or post payment review. The goal is to work towards prevention and identification of potential fraud, waste and abuse. As part of the demonstration , CMS proposes that IRFs have the option of the two choices pre or post payment review. Determined compliance determines an IRF’s course through the demonstration.

UDSMR has kept close watch on the growing number of COVID-19 cases caused by the Omicron variant. We decided that in order to protect both the health-care workers who attend our events and the patients they care for, our best option is to conduct our 2022 User Groups as a virtual event, which will take place on May 11, 12, and 13.

Our staff is diligently working to deliver an engaging, interactive, and informative agenda. Topics will include rankings and comparisons among inpatient rehabilitation facilities, trends and clarifications for coding section GG items, and an introduction to version 4.0 of the IRF-PAI. Time will be allotted for a review of the FY 2023 proposed rule if it has been released by the time of the User Group.

Registration for the 2022 Virtual UDS-PRO® User Group will open shortly. If you have any questions about this event, please contact Carole Stickels at 716-817-7815.
