Hopeful Ways is sponsoring an Eye Care Clinic with the Lions in Santo Tomás Nicaragua in Santo Tomás Ch. on May 23rd. Everyone identified with severe cataracts in both eyes will be offered free cataract surgery to have their sight restored through the Hopeful Ways "Gift of Sight" Program.

Lockport newspaper recognizes Hopeful Ways and Lions Clubs International Melvin Jones Fellowship Award winners Jim Carlins and Loretta Carlins for their service to underprivileged people while adhering to the highest level of Lionism. This award is the highest recognition that can be given by the Lions Club.

The Lockport Lions Club honored Jim Carlins and Loretta Carlins by presenting each of them with the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. As founding members of Hopeful Ways, Jim and Loretta have dedicated over 10 years serving the underprivileged in Central America.
Quoting Lockport Lion Joseph Rizzo,
"This award is the highest form of recognition from The Lions Club International Foundation. It is named in honor of our (Lions) founder, Melvin Jones, whose vision continues to inspire a global mission of humanitarian service. This distinguished honor is reserved for those who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to serving others and have made a profound and lasting impact on their communities—and beyond."

Thanks to the Youngstown-Lions for the generous onation and for inviting Jim Carlins to speak about the Hopeful Ways mission.

We had a great meeting on Tuesday with guest speaker Jim Carlins from the local organization, Hopeful Ways. He’s pictured with our President, Lion Stu.

Jim shared about the impactful work Hopeful Ways is doing as a nonprofit supporting communities around the world. Through their efforts, Hopeful Ways partners with Lion Clubs and local communities in places like Nicaragua and Costa Rica to provide resources, support, and opportunities that make a lasting difference.

Their work includes providing eye exams, procedures, and other treatments to people who otherwise may not have access to this care. It was inspiring to hear about the positive impact being made and the ways individuals and organizations can help support these communities.

Hundreds of people arrived at the reading glasses distribution of event held by the Club De Leones Nicoya. The reading glasses were donated by Hopeful Ways during their recent eye care mission to the town.

Thanks To Reichert Ametek for graciously providing a tonopen for the recent Hopeful Ways Eye Care Mission to Nicoya Costa Rica. The tonopen allowed our doctors to provide more advanced diagnostic patient examinations. Hopeful Ways strives to provide the highest quality of eye care for its patients.
