MATCHING GRANT CHALLENGE !!!
In honor of the USA 250th anniversary, every donation of $250 or more to the Hopeful Ways Endowment Fund will be matched dollar for dollar until the $10,000 matching grant is exhausted.

This is a great opportunity to have your donation go further. The Endowment Fund was established to create a self-sustaining funding source so that vital services, especially the “Gift of Sight” eye surgery program, can continue indefinitely. Attention Eye Care Professionals. Hopeful Ways is announcing our next eye care mission that will serve the people in San Lucas Toliman Guatemala during 3/12 – 3/20/2027. Interested people should contact Jim Carlins ([email protected] or (716) 909-8942) and complete an application before August 28, 2026. Non-eyecare volunteers are also welcome to apply. Lions Club members are especially encouraged to participate.

Hopeful Ways sponsored an eye care clinic in Rivas Nicaragua last weekend in conjunction with Clínica y Fundación Ojo Sano Eye Care Clinic and Leones Rivas Decano. Free eye care services helped to improve vision for people. Some people were identified with severe cataracts. These people will be offered free cataract surgery through the Hopeful Ways “Gift of Sight” program. Improving and restoring eyesight is a life changing event that enhances their everyday living.

Hopeful Ways supporters joined the Explore Buffalo Masters of American Architecture Tour as a Hopeful Ways fundraiser. The tour highlighted some of the history associated with the iconic architectural buildings in downtown Buffalo, mostly built in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The group also met for a pre-tour dinner at Hofbrauhaus Buffalo .

Hopeful Ways is sponsoring an Eye Care Clinic with the Lions in Santo Tomás Nicaragua in Santo Tomás Ch. on May 23rd. Everyone identified with severe cataracts in both eyes will be offered free cataract surgery to have their sight restored through the Hopeful Ways "Gift of Sight" Program.

Lockport newspaper recognizes Hopeful Ways and Lions Clubs International Melvin Jones Fellowship Award winners Jim Carlins and Loretta Carlins for their service to underprivileged people while adhering to the highest level of Lionism. This award is the highest recognition that can be given by the Lions Club.

The Lockport Lions Club honored Jim Carlins and Loretta Carlins by presenting each of them with the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. As founding members of Hopeful Ways, Jim and Loretta have dedicated over 10 years serving the underprivileged in Central America.
