At the recent Ames High Pops Concert Marion Kresse of our Kiwanis club acknowledged three Ames High senior musicians with awards in the areas of orchestra- (Laura Chen), Band- (Evan Buller), and choir- (Nathan Mittman). Who wouldn't want to belong to this fun-loving club...whose members are talented, giving, and enjoy great camaraderie in serving the community together! In the past 20 years, 330 beautiful wreaths have been created; thank you, Paul, Gerri, Stephanie, and Jack! The total amount raised is over $45,000, including $3,300 from this year's 10 wreaths. (Thank you, generous members, and clever Auctioneer Leo!) This money strengthens our club's Foundation and is used for special community projects that come up throughout the year.

The Cyclone Country AKTION Club had a special return visitor last week! Santa (AKA Town and Country Club member Jack Winkler) made sure that the members knew how proud he was of their service and kind hearts! In addition, one member held a cookie auction to raise money for Food at First. Nobody shines with the Christmas spirit like the AKTION Club! Our club is proud to be the co-sponsor of CCAC along with the Ames Noon Kiwanis Club and the Golden K Kiwanis.
