Join us this summer for two unique performances that benefit the Amana Heritage Society! As we work to restore the Homestead Village Church Museum, we will begin what will be an annual series of events that will include musical performances, live theater, and more.
On July 11th, 2026, we are thrilled to welcome Anne Prinz, a member of Zither International and a leader in zither performance and history, along with fellow musician Karen Hinnah for a Zither Concert at the Homestead Village Church Museum. The concert will begin at 10:00am on Saturday morning and will be followed by a gathering where visitors are welcome to stay and talk with the musicians and bring their own zither to play a little with Anne and Karen. The Homestead Village Church museum is at 4210 V Street, Homestead, IA.
On August 8th, 2026, Iowa City playwright Janet Schlapkohl will direct a live performance of a new original play, Death of an American Citizen Abroad. This one-man show will be performed by actor Michael Penick. This performance will take place at the Amana Performing Arts Center, located at 39 38th Avenue, Amana, IA.
Tickets for both performances can be found at: https://amanaheritage.org/product-category/events/performances/. Please reach out to our Program Director at [email protected] with any questions!
